The much loved and ever present Twitter social networking platform has again been hit by a scam in the form of a seemingly innocent ploy of a “Best Video” link that led gullible users to a site that downloaded a PDF file that was loaded with malware, loaded with exploits getting people’s computers infected yet again. The web site downloaded exploits in what seems to be a drive-by move by a worm that redirected people towards a seemingly legit site. There are a lot of stand-alone products that work well if you keep them updated as much as you should. You might be surprised at how much suspicious software and data your system has. Especially if you haven’t run one yet, ever, or for a long time, you had better set aside a significant amount of time for you to scan your PC or laptop for potentially suspicious malware, adware and spyware that can compromise your system.
