Google has long been a web leader and with that in mind, they have worked hard to keep their system safe and along with that, their users get the same protection. Two of the largest search engines in the world Yahoo and Google have long been using products from Symantec to handle their web related security issues and this is very much evident when you use their free mail facilities. Most malware bombs come in as attachments to email that are opened even with the stern and repetitive warnings from industry experts the world over, people are simply too unreliable and are known to do stuff that should not be done at all.
The internet may never become as safe as it should be but the world of software developers is finding a way to tame these malware, but sometimes too much. Some intrusion prevention systems are so invasive they can themselves become pests in their own right, making the computer unstable and seize up, eating up all the resources that used to be available to the user. Even a complete uninstall can leave some trace of it’s presence still holding keys to your system even if it was supposed to have been removed. Web sites install tracking coookies that lets their makers know your habits to present the most relevant ads to get you hooked on quick. Do frequent scans to keep safe and heed the warnings regarding malware, they are after all for your sake.
