There are several good anti-spyware software on the market that makes very good protection from the nastiest malware around including worms, viruses and spyware. Some can be purchased independently (stand-alone), while some are available only as bundles but their low prices makes them just as available for they offer more protection. Some of the older versions of these bundled products were quite bulky in a sense that they ate up a lot of the computer system’s resources. Due to continued efforts to make them work better, they have been streamlined enough to allow them to work seamlessly without causing much of a slowdown which is what made them undesirable in the first place.
From Norton, McAfee to several other brands that have been in circulation, there are also a few free ones though the places you may get them are of dubious origins, you should restrict getting them from the developer’s own sites so you do not get surprises (more malware) in the process. Be careful with spyware for some of them which are detected as tracking cookies may be required by free mail clients but they are mostly from websites who wishes to track your movements and preferences making your overall experience customized. The thin line they tread may spell disaster or recovery from an infection so be careful what you chose for they can influence the speed at which you browse the internet.
